Director – Net Zero Energy Strategist, Real Estate, Dubai, UAE

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Net Zero Energy Strategy for the Real Estate Investment Fund, aligning with global climate targets and best practices.
• Identify and assess energy-related risks and opportunities across the investment portfolio, incorporating renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives to enhance sustainability performance.
• Lead the integration of net zero energy principles into the investment decision-making process, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with sustainability goals.
• Collaborate with property managers, developers, and tenants to drive energy reduction initiatives, implement energy management systems, and monitor progress towards net zero energy targets.
• Stay abreast of emerging energy technologies, regulatory developments, and market trends to inform investment strategies and identify innovative opportunities for sustainable energy solutions.
• Develop strong relationships with industry partners, energy providers, and sustainability organisations to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing in the pursuit of net zero energy goals.
  Provide strategic guidance and expertise to senior management and investment teams on energy-related opportunities and risks, incorporating net zero energy considerations into investment decision frameworks.

Requirements and skills

• ​Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Engineering, Business). Advanced degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in sustainable energy management, energy efficiency, and renewable energy, preferably within the real estate investment or asset management sector.
• In-depth knowledge of net zero energy principles, energy efficiency technologies, and renewable energy systems.
  Familiarity with real estate investment practices and understanding of the financial aspects related to energy performance and net zero energy investments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess energy-related risks and opportunities and develop data-driven strategies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and investment stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to drive change, influence stakeholders, and inspire teams towards net zero energy goals.
• Understanding of global climate targets, energy regulations, and sustainability frameworks (e.g., Science-Based Targets, GRESB, LEED) is highly desirable.
